Once, during one of the ubiquitous beg-a-thons that KPBS seems to always be in the midst of, I told a cold call phone person that I wasn't about to donate anything to support their station's operations as long as they were running so much commercial advertising, and that they could simply charge more for those spots and learn to operate within the revenue generated like the all the other stations in town. Would you pay if they had no commercials and instead were scrambled? |

It doesn't matter what he said; what matters is he's helping destroy America Actually NPR is trying to stop free speech. They are trying to coerce the the "press" No "freedom of speech" issue here. We also have contract law, which is more relevant. Williams was embarrassing NPR by appearing on Fox News. His bosses warned him. When he didn't stop going on Fox News they fired his ass. How can that be "censorship"? They didn't fire the ones expressing Liberal Bias in other places.... They didn't think spewing Liberal Dogma was embarrassing? That looks good for losing government money at the very least and maybe a BIG FAT law suit for Juan Williams, on grounds that "embarrassing" was not equally enforced and he can throw in that he was also the only black man and was outed for discrimination reasons..... I see many many legal questions being asked of *the PBS elites* |

He wasn't on the job. He was a free speaker on another network. The Government may not abridge your freedom of speech, but this does not apply to your employer, who can fire you for pretty much any reason. No they can't. PBS/NPR elites think they can do anything they want, the laws and rules don't apply to the "intelligent" smart and elite of the Liberal class. |

I paid federal income tax for lo those many years to subsidize the very concept of commercial free broadcasting, that has now effectively disappeared. That's because they don't get tax money anymore. Not for operations. When they do get facilities grants (NTIA) or development grants (CPB) they are contingent on local matching funds. I can assure you that most public radio stations are very frugal and good stewards of the public trust. |

I can't believe that you actually grab onto a typo for rebuttal.... The elites are Rush Limbaugh and the Koch Brothers. I don't think anybody's made a million dollars at PBS since Kermit the Frog. PBS and NPR are the Leftist elites playground supported by tax dollars and misused by Liberals as their own personal Propaganda network. The people you attack are using their own talent and money to fund their broadcasts. |
