Default RCI

Although its not good news to lose Radio Canada there is a silver
lining...maybe we'll get rid of all those obnoxious Chinese dog turds
littering the shortwave lawn.

Wish you were right, but scrapping the site is part of the plan at
this point. Canada DX will become a much tougher target outside North
America with only the tiny /= 1 kW outlets left

-news-flash*-

* or was that flash-in-the-pan...

Rumor has it... that a Consortium* of All
American 'Patriot' [USA] Shortwave Radio
Broadcasters will jointly lease the RCI
Transmitter Site in Sackville, NB since it
is 'perfect' for beaming back 'in-country'
to the USA and get around all those pesky
US/FCC Regs -now...-if-only-it-were-true-

Is Another Mans Political Conspiracy !

What will the Chinese use?

Cuba - they use it now. Not of the same quality as Sackville of
course, but just as close. Besides, here in California, Chinese
mainland stations are received just as well as the Cuban or Sackville
relay transmissions.

Also, French Guiana has a relay station ready and willing to provide
more business. And, if RNW does not tear down Bonaire, that's
available too.

Seems that particular phrase has replaced the 'What would Jesus do?'
mantra in extremist US political circles.
