![]() Shortwave has been replaced by online audio and video. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Yep... real convenient for those living in sub-Sahara Africa, China (yes, they have internet, but no access to the sorts of things you could get on international SW), N. Korea, many Pacific islands, etc., etc. |

Also, there is the cost of buying and maintaining a device capable of streaming online audio vs the cost of buying a simple SW radio. My high speed internet costs close to $50 per month. How much does it cost to run a Iphone or similar device per month? Not everybody, especially people in poorer countries, can afford these extravagant devices.

Some think so. Many still don't.
The fools that have fallen for so called "Internet radio" do not realize that they are playing right into the hands of those who are profiling, tracking and creating data bases on their personal habits. In addition to knowing all your business, now they can easily monitor what people listen to and derive intellectual and attitude data.. What sheeple the dumbbells are that have bought the whole Internet BS-thing without realizing how they're turning over personal information by using these so called "replacements.". |
