I have a few old shoe shine boxes. One of them is an antique, it is beat up and raggity looking. Oviously home made, by a guy in New Orleans. Another one I have is made sort of like a foot stool/cabinet. A hinged door on one side, and the hinged top opens up, there are some old tacks on the top, I reckon originally there was a padded seat.There is a cast iron foot rest and a round hollowed out place for a can of shoe polish.
