Default DX-399 Clearance

I picked up a new Radioshack DX-399 over the weekend. These are on clearance, marked down to $39.97 from $150. Overall I've been very pleased with it, and quite surprised at this little radio's performance, considering its cheap price. It's small and light, comes with a carrying pouch, and includes an AC adapter. For under $40 you are getting a dual conversion radio with 1 kHz tuning from 153 Khz - 29.999 Mhz. This is the same radio as the Sangean ATS-606, and seems like the perfect travel companion. For the price, I don't think it can be beat. Radioshack part number is 20-229. For better performance just hook up a 20 feet wire to its external antenna connection (Radioshack 278-1374 is a good choice).Ali.

Givn the age of this post, I will be pleasantly surprised for a reply. I have the RS DX-399 but the speaker is most likely blown out (very scratchy... sounds good thru earphones). Anyone have any idea how to get to the speaker? Thanks.

Then why did you reply to a 2002 post?

If you actualy have a question, don't go looking for an ancient thread to
reply to, start a new one. Just because google hasnt' fixed the bug that
allows replies to posts older than 30 days doesn't mean every idiot should
be replying to old posts. Use some common sense.
