RT and Novosti are both mouthpieces for Putin, but even as such they do a better job than any USA news channel. |

I have read reports that they will end service later this month (which pre-dated Mr. Putin's decree), but there is also speculation that they will actually continue on. We'll have to wait and see. dxAce Michigan USA |

RT and Novosti are both mouthpieces for Putin, but even as such they do a better job than any USA news channel. They were excellent during the oligarch/fundamentalist Syrian war campaign. According to RIA Novosti itself: "News agency RIA Novosti and the state-owned Voice of Russia radio are to be scrapped and absorbed into Rossiya Segodnya. [...] The move to dissolve RIA Novosti and Voice of Russia is the latest in a series of shifts in the country's news landscape, which appear to point toward a tightening of state control in the already heavily regulated media sector. Presidential administration head Sergei Ivanov said the changes were about saving money and making state media more effective." http://en.ria.ru/russia/20131210/185...ias-Image.html Is Max Keiser going away? Will I have to watch him on the IRI channel? |

Hello, and while I realize this ng is for the HF radio band, I'd like to point out that VOR is still alive and well on the MW band at 1390 kHz in the metro Washington DC area. Sincerely, -- J. B.
