On the Sony US website, the SW7600GR radio is listed as having an FM
frequency range of 87.6 to 108FM, while on the European web sites,
it's listed as 76.0-108FM. Is this indeed the case (that the US
version's FM range is shorter than the European version)?

My 7600G (US model) had 76-108 MHz FM. Actually, that's to cover the FM band
in Japan, which runs from 76-90 MHz (they have their TV channels 1, 2, and 3
between 90 and 108 MHz.) AFAIK, all of Europe is currently using 88-108.
