How about the Devil and or KJES via Vado, New Mexico at 1800 GMT to 1900 hrs
in English to Australasia at 50kw. Then in Spanish at 2000-2100 GMT to Central America at 50kw. -- Stewart H. MacKenzie, WDX6AA "World Friendship Through Shortwave Radio Where Culture and Language Meet" ASWLC - http://groups.yahoo.com/group/ASWLC/ SCADS - http://groups.yahoo.com/group/SCADS/ "Randy Padawer" wrote in message om... Today I scanned across 19m and heard some really scary evanglist types on 15.385 MHz -- it was just after 1800 GMT, Wednesday, September 10, 2003. Here's an excerpt: "If your hand or foot causes you to sin, cut it off and throw it away. It is better for you to enter life maimed or crippled than to have two hands or two feet and be thrown into eternal fire." "And if your eye causes you to sin, gouge it out and throw it away. It is better for you to enter into life with one eye than to have two eyes and be thrown into the fire of hell." Another verse I don't even want to directly quote -- the gist of it was that it would be better for a child to have a millstone put around his neck and drowned than to witness someone else sinning. I sure hope we don't hear about these people on CNN one day, but I imagine nevertheless that some of the religious-based murders we sometimes hear are grounded in beliefs like this. Anybody know what group originates this incredible doggerel? Randy (WA4FJF) |

FWIW, I think they are quoting scripture accurately, except for the part
about the kid that I never heard. There are all kinds and degrees of views, and a lot needs to be taken with a grain of salt. |

This is all Biblically accurate.
Matthew 5 28 But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart. 29 And if thy right eye offend thee, pluck it out, and cast it from thee: for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members should perish, and not that thy whole body should be cast into hell. 30 And if thy right hand offend thee, cut it off, and cast it from thee: for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members should perish, and not that thy whole body should be cast into hell. courtesy of http://www.gospelcom.net/ Naturally the point here is its better to go to heaven missing body parts than to go to hell in whole. And I believe the earlier posted section was saying its not such a hot idea for a seasoned Christian to say something to a new Christiain which may result in that person loosing faith and fall away. Many times its better just to hold the tongue than criticise or confuse a new Christian. And from what Mathew is saying to the offender: It is better to place a millstone around that persons neck and toss them into the sea. Than for them to cause a new Christian to stumble. The nature of Christianity is such that the Holy Spirit gradually convicts each person of the sins in their life. Others don't usually need to do it for them. Exceptions (IMHO) are your pastor preaching to the whole church and not singling anyone out. I don't think that KJES (it means King Jesus Eternal Savior) is as strictly Catholic as WEWN Eternal Word Network. They may claim to be Catholics, but they're more radical. I suppose it's a real shoestring operation. Transmitter sites often run on autopilot. I've been to the tops of San Bruno Mountain and Sutro Peak in the San Francisco area, and the sites were deserted except for a lone guard at Sutro. I've also been to several transmitter sites in the Sacramento area, and they were deserted. Apparently the tx's are run by remote from the studio these days. Frank Dresser |

Thanks, all. Well, I've certainly revealed my scriptural ignorance
today, LOL. That just sounded so extreme to me, and when chanted (responsive reading group-style) sounded really way out. Thanks for clarifying and for the information. Randy (WA4FJF) |

Sigh...another human who cannot accept the preachings from the
bible....There are verses in the King James Bible that preach similar things. If you don't like it, that is your problem... Clete Randy Padawer wrote in message ... Having been raised catholic, and catching the KJES broadcasts frequently over the last 3 years, I would not have guessed these guys are Catholics. For one thing, I never catch them mentioning the Pope, Mary, or the Catholic church and its rules/doctrines. Those are usually the clear giveaways. In my experience, a religious broadcaster who can go 20 minutes without mentioning any of those *was* invariably a Protestant. But who knows? This outfit may be one of the dissidents that have arisen from time to time after Vatican 2. Or maybe these guys were against diddling little boys... -- Col. I.P. If I followed their Biblical advice, then I'd probably enter heaven as a
eunuch. Note that the entity's president is a Jesuit. I understand the Jesuits were finally kicked out of the RCC for their extremist actions. Certainly they were the ones who accompanied the Spanish explorers 500 years ago and did bad things to Mesoamerican societies and burned their books. Bill, K5BY |
