Bottom line: A neat little pocket-portable AM-FM-SW "bang-about"
radio that won't hurt much should it fall in the water when boating,
become lost, or stolen from the car / office. Digital display makes
it easier to tune than the also popular Coby slide-rule radios in this
price range (15-25 dollars).

Agree.. have picked up 12.095 ( BBC from Ascension) walking around in NYC
streets; but does overload.
It's very good on batteries, so I use it as an FM source put through Computer
speakers.

Nice for tooling around on a Bike; if your out in the clear, you can pick up
stronger stations.
if you crash & it flies apart; you're just out ten bucks !

will try an external antenna later on whilst on Bike.

After using mine for a month or two, I noticed a shortcoming. All the SW ranges
had shifted upward about 50 kHz. Someday, I'll open it and see if they can be
tuned back down. I doubt it, though. The B&H couldn't be. Its capacitors were
for peaking the inputs.

I just tried a sheet of steel behind my jWIN. It dropped the ranges 10 kHz.
Then I played around with magnets behind it. It would go momentarily crazy and
then settle down. After I got through fooling around, I saw that the ranges
were back to where they used to be. :-)

I like the radio but wish the tuning range on all bands was 50 kHz higher.

Give it time. Let it age. G

By the way... That creep in frequency was not due to a weak battery. I tried
new cells, too. No change -- until I started playing around.
