I ordered my new SWL station yesterday from Universal Radio.
I purchased a new Grundig Satellit 800 along with the MTA antenna.
Unfortunately, the antenna is on backorder and, in transit from Holland.
So it appears that I'll get to play with the radio minus the ext.
antenna for a little while.
I will let the NG know how the MTA antenna effects the reception once I
get it.

IMHO I still think you could have yourself a much better antenna, and pocket
the extra loot to boot by building your own antenna.

I don't disagree, it is very possible that I could have made or bought a
better SWL antenna!
My wife asked me to seriously consider the MTA because she didn't want a
longwire or sloper strung up outside.
If I don't like the MTA, I'll try to sell it and then try something
else.
If it works well, then I'll consider it $200.00 well spent.
For me, it's worth a try!
I'll share the results.

N8KDV,

At least from what I have read about the MTA Antenna.

Isn't the MTA Antenna akin to the BroomStick Antenna.
- A Helical Coiled Antenna Element(s).
- - Seven(7) Foot Vertical Antenna
- - - Enclosed in a PVC Tube.

Except the MTA has some form of Matching Transformer built into Antenna Tube.

It would appear that that's all it is.
