There currently is no shortwave broadcasting from Mozambique, the
shortwave transmitters were decommissioned in 2001.

At any rate, it would be kind of difficult for 3280 to propagate to N.
America at that time from Mozambique...

China and Ecuador also use the frequency.

The language was Portugese and my current database didn't show it as being
inactive. Showed current.
I didn't see any other listing for that frequency either.
Not in any of the databases.
Didn't get a definate ID though, signal was very weak. However I will go
listen to it again I did record it. Maybe I can get more the second time
around.

Also used by Radio Veritas out of South Africa, but not during that time
frame.

That's so odd, none of the databases I use show anything but that Radio
Mocambique on that frequency. They've all been updated as well.

What is your source?

I have one more question, it's about one of your receivers. What do you
think of the R7 Do you like it as well as the R8 or R8B?

If so, they are terribly out of date.

What is your source?

Multiple sources.

I like the R7 when in a real tough dx'ing situation. I like the true pass-band
tuning, and the IF notch. The audio at times leaves a bit to be desired. But
in a crunch, it's the receiver of choice. I have the 8, 6, 4, 3 and 2.3 kHz
filters installed.

At any rate, as I stated before, it would be rather odd for 3280 to propagate
from Mozambique at that hour, the whole of Africa is in daylight, and the
terminator is over the mid-Atlantic at that time.
