Why? :-) It seems that Grundig is changing their product line of world band receivers and has not yet updated all their websites. At least the YB 80 is on sale in Germany. Today i had the opportunity to take a short look on it. It looks like a bigger P2000 (nearly ATS-505 size) being technically and feature wise a mixture of the YB 400 and the ATS-505. There is a fine thumbwheel for tuning as well as up/down buttons, though during my short test i found no way to tune in smaller steps than 5 kHz on SW either with the wheel or the buttons!? Yes, there is SSB with a seperate fine tuning wheel (same as YB400), but again no LSB/USB switch! And I'm not quite shure if there really was a wide/narrow switch as stated in their data sheet: http://www.grundig.de/produkte/audio...empfaenger.pdf Maybe i should take a second look next week! Apart from the local AM station there was absolutely no reception in the store so i can not comment on this. Price was €199,- which in my opinion is a bit on the high side! But lets see which hidden features and qualities there may be... Good luck for the new year to all of you! |
