Well, I finally put it up on eBay, so if anyone is looking for a
clean, working Sangean ATS818cs... here it is: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...ESSE%3AIT&rd=1 FWIW, the radio had little use since I had a Sony ICF SW77 that got the brunt of my attention. Sold the Sony, now selling this one and will probably get a GE Super Radio or CC Radio (please don't laugh) as my use is just about 100% talk radio. Don't know if anyone cares, but I'm a non-smoker, the radio is 100% functional and nice looking, comes complete with original Sangean box, manual, wall-pack, and antenna adapter. It has all the bells and whistles for shortwave, plus that nice ability to record a program while you sleep or whatever. Thanks for looking, and thanks for all the help and advice. Mike |

Stereo Cassette
I understand that this receiver is the same as the Realistic DX-392. Although it doesn't say one way or another in either the Owner's Manual or the Service Manual, I believe the cassette tape is mono. In fact, I think the one FM stereo broadcast (jazz) I taped played as a mono tape in my car's stereo tape player. Bill, K5BY |
