Yes, they "Offshored" the LifeSavers plant here to Canada. Sugar and cardboard
were less expensive. Not sure about labor.

Did you see the Bush aide in the news today bragging that increased outsourcing
is just another sign that Bush is taking the economy in the right direction?

No wonder Bush is falling like a rock in the polls!

Then they outsourced the whole Cust support & Some C++ Development
to India

Tech support for Dell, IBM, HP, AOL; AP/AR call center for General
Electric Capital Corp., gone to India. (GE is employing speech
therapists to teach the Indian workers to speak English with an
"American" accent.)

Most consumer electronics to the Pacific Rim.

Lots of textiles to Bangladesh. (Including the 5,500 jobs that were
just lost in North Carolina the past few months when PilowTex closed
all their plants.)

Rumors going around that Wal-Mart is China's biggest trade partner. I
can't confirm it, but from what I see for sale in Wal-Mart lately, I
wouldn't be surprised.

purchases to favor goods and services from the USA.

How many of us can say most of our radios were made in the USA?

Who makes radios in the USA? Don't think anyone has in years..

As for ISP's, no matter which one you use, you're still likely paying
(indirectly) a backbone provider that uses mostly outsourced workers (if not
wholly owned outside the US).

If you want to support US workers anymore, you have to buy a Japanese or
Korean car because the ones sold in the states are mostly made there..
