OK, I *finally* have this great 30x30 Diamond Loop mounted on the back of my
turntable and I'm ready to shoot for some 'RARE DX' on the broadcast band.:-D IMO my best BCB radio (without a loop) isn't even close, it's the GE P-780, but to do some 'rare iding' of stations, what would be the best choice of going about this? Use the GE P-780 {?} that is analog and no headphone jack or move the DX-398 over to the table where I'd have the luxury of digital and the headphones? It's a TOUGH choice IMO. Idea anyone? Ron H? want to give props to Mark here in the group (nm5k) on the loop. Makes the radio shack pieces look like toys (really.) I've captured some pretty far away stations on just the turntable and rat shack loops so I'm pumped. I really recommend, as I'm sure the BCB dxers already know, that a great loop (or phasing units outside) is imperative as well as a turntable. This loop tunes from 530 -1830kc so I'm excited about hitting some stations and actually hearing them well. What time, day or night is when you've captured your most impressive BCB dx? ~*~*Monitoring The AirWaves~*~ *****GO BEARCATS***** Hammarlund HQ129X /Heathkit Q Multiplier Hammarlund HQ140X Multiple GE P-780's(GREAT BCB Radios) RCA Victor *Strato- World* RCA Victor RJC77W-K(Walnut Grain) 1942 Zenith Wave Magnet 6G 601M Cathedral/ Ross#2311/Rhapsody-MultiBand DX100/394/398/399/402 OMGS Transistor Eight/Realistic 12-1451 Henry Kloss Model One/Bell+Howell ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~* Alpha Delta DX Sloper 57ft. 600ft. 12AWG.
