Any one have a wasted DX392? I need the battery compartment, and it looks
like the battery compression spring is part of the rear case cover. Mine got corroded with battery leakage and is gone. Mike |

Would you be able to use a spring from a Radio Shack battery holder? Bill, K5BY |

Thanks Bill,
Unfortunately, the end piece where the spring makes contact is almost all gone due to corrosion and it looks like it is molded into the plastic housing. I think I am screwed. |

Sadly, it sure sounds like it. I had the same thing happen to my 392. Fortunately, I caught it before permanent damage was done. It still took a lot of cleaning to restore it to operating condition. I can have cells sit in things for years and nothing happens, but when one does leak, it's always in some device that really gets screwed up by it. Bill, K5BY |
