The people on this newsgroup sure are a crabby bunch. This would be a
perfectly good radio for someone that only wanted to listen to one
station.

Given the way things are going on SW, that's about all there'll
be in a couple of years.

A nice receiver, and an amazingly overdramatic description of its abilities.

And in the description he states, "caps are all within limits". I
supposed he checked each and every cap with a cap tester that measures
leakage, yeah right.

At least it looks like a real radio, one that my late wife (N5GIN) would have
allowed in the living room.

I'm sure my DX-392 can do much better than that SX-100, but the 392 hasn't much
more excitement to its appearance and "feel" than does my $9.99 Bellow and
Howl.

There's a problem with that?

The crabby, yet resourceful, radio guy has alternatives.

Hey, those aren't real Vice Grips, they're copies. The OP had a real,
original, SX-100 Mk II. The only thing heavier was his expectation of
getting $700 for it.

Mine has all the knobs and I'll sell it for $500. :-)

Perhaps he meant they were all oozing an amount of wax consistent with a 40+
year-old receiver that runs hot.
