![]() "Tom Betz" wrote in message . 70... According to http://www.guampdn.com/news/stories/20040416/localnews/238521.html one of them (Evan Montvel-Cohen) used to be "chief of staff for former Republican Sen. Tommy Tanaka" and "collected and spent nearly $15,000 for several negative television and print ads about Democratic Sen. Ben Pangelinan" -- in Guam, that is. Well, that's interesting. Further: "Montvel-Cohen had been hired by attorney Randall Cunliffe to dig deeper into a list of alleged illegal voters that had been presented as evidence by attorneys for losing candidate Joseph Ada." "A year later, Montvel-Cohen was chairman of "Concerned Citizens for Honesty and Integrity in Government," which collected and spent nearly $15,000 for several negative television and print ads about Democratic Sen. Ben Pangelinan and several Republican candidates." The news story has Cohen going after both Democrats and Repblicans, although Cohen is associated with the Republicans. I suppose Cohen doesn't have to be partisian Democrat or Republican. Maybe he's in it just for the fight. Air America is certainly strident enough. Do you think Cohen and Liu each might have "Anger Management" problems? I mean Cohen didn't have to stop the check. The LA issue would get resolved the same either way. And Liu didn't have to kick Air America off either of his stations. Again, the issue would get fixed behind the scenes. And if Liu was really getting $600/hr out of Air America, this contest will get real expensive, real fast. Thanks for the link! Frank Dresser |

And I don't think they are back as of 12:45 EDT either, though I do have a problem with a Wisconsin station here, but still hearing non-English underneath. |

It's past noon here. Still broadcasting Asian programming. I wish they'd broadcast tapes of the conversations between Mr. Cohen and Mr. Liu. Now, that could be VERY entertaining!! Frank Dresser |

Air America's website had some sarcastic and unclever press releases, one of which was crowing about their court victory in New York. The pages came up blank the last time I checked. Still Asian language programming. 1:15pm. Frank Dresser |

![]() "N8KDV" wrote in message ... Hey, you started with the HTML! Not from here, as far as I know! Ahh, back to text! Weird glitch, I guess. Here's a quote from a story linked from the drudgereport: "Air America chairman Evan Cohen said the company had not asked the court to act in Los Angeles, and was pursuing other options there, including finding a new "more responsible and mature" business partner. " http://tinyurl.com/23qkm So what's with this Evan Cohen guy, anyway? If he can't say anything nice about his CURRENT business partner, should he say anything at all? If this guy likes flame wars, he can do it for free on usenet. Frank Dresser |

![]() "N8KDV" wrote in message ... So I wonder what is up in Chicago? I don't know. For all I know, the people at WNTD are now spending all day bashing Air America instead of the Republicans. I don't understand Korean. Or is it Chinese? I don't even know that much. Frank Dresser |
