Default 255 kHz signal?

last night 1030 UTC i noticed a morse signal on 255 kHz. lower sideband, i
believe. to my (untrained) ears it sounded like

dot dot dot dash | dash dot dot repeating over and over

V D ???

anybody know what it is? it's still going at the present time.

It's a navigational beacon, but I can't find anything with that call on that
freq.

Where are you located? That always helps.

duh..should have mentioned my location:

south-central Pennsylvania

wasn't able to check out 372 kHz..YB 400 doesn't tune that freq.

found out what it was

turns out it was really 254 kHz and is
.. ..- -..
so much for my morse skills...but hey..i learned something.
