I did the R43 resistor mod' (removal) and the homemade impedance

Someday I'll put it back.

I've done a google on the impedance matching transformer, to no avail.

Does someone have a link for mod?

The R43 removal increases in the sensitivity in the radio for all am, not just
sw. LW, MW sensitivity and the lower bands are increased. I notice a big help
for 75 meter sideband, even with the impedance matching transformer. It maybe
overkill to some as the MW seems ok and the biggest improvement to the whip
only would be the transformer mod since it affects the whip's sensitivity only.
I guess that's why I have two 398's. Sometimes it's fun to reach for the double
cheeseburger for that extra improvement.
