Right! Let's base our foreign policy on public opinion! Not on

Public opinion has to be the ONLY reason a government acts. Anything
else is a dictatorship. The PEOPLE tell the government what to do, NOT
the other way around.

Amazing how the allegedly 'conservative' voices now support huge
government and the passing of laws detrimental to liberty. Those are the
traits previously ascribed to 'socialists' and 'liberals' and 'democrats'.

A neo-con by any other name is still a CON.

All of that would be correct, except there is a difference now. We
are at war. This enemy is hell-bent on our destruction. I would
much rather have a few people photographed naked than have another
9-11 style attack on the United States.

There are 19 (nineteen) nations with Arabic as the principal language.
Not ONE of them is a democracy. Not a single one!

Interesting, isn't it?

MWB,

Re-Posted for Your Re-Education {Oh, "Pretty Hard to Dismiss" One} :

! NATION-STATES - BUT WHAT IS IN A NAME - AND WHO USES IT !

The Word "Democratic" is Part of the Official Name of Many Countries:
http://www.cia.gov/cia/publications/...elds/2142.html

* Some use the Word DEMOCRATIC in their Official Name:
People's Democratic Republic of Algeria
Democratic People's Republic of Korea
Lao People's Democratic Republic
Great Socialist People's Libyan Arab Jamahiriya
Democratic Republic of the Congo
Democratic Republic of Timor-Leste
Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia
Democratic People's Republic of Korea
Lao People's Democratic Republic
Democratic Republic of Sao Tome and Principe
Somali Democratic Republic
Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka

* Some simply use the Word PEOPLE'S in their Official Name:
People's Republic of Bangladesh
People's Republic of China

* Some still use the Word SOCIALIST in their Official Name:
Socialist Republic of Albania
Socialist Republic of Vietnam

* Some 'now' use the Word ARAB or ISLAMIC in their Official Name:
Arab Republic of Egypt
Great Socialist People's Libyan Arab Jamahiriya
Kingdom of Saudi Arabia
Syrian Arab Republic
United Arab Emirates
Transitional Islamic State of Afghanistan
Islamic Republic of Iran
Islamic Republic of Mauritania
Islamic Republic of Pakistan

NOTE: Most of the above are "Nationalistic" ONE PARTY Systems [.]

Can you verify that? I think Egypt and algeria still hold elections and have
rejected monarchies. Afghanistan is Islamic, but not Arabic, as is Pakistan.

MWB - People's "Democratic" Republic of Algeria

MWB - Arab Republic of Egypt

MWB - Transitional Islamic State of Afghanistan

MWB - Islamic Republic of Pakistan

MWB - NOTE: Simply having Elections do not make a Counrty an
'Open' and 'Free' Democracy no matter what it's name or title.

MWB - If so... China and Cuba would be 'models' of Democracy.
[ Both are Communist "One Party" Systems ]

NOTE: Actually most of the Nations that have One Party "Totalitarian"
Systems are still Run by their 'nationalistic' Communist Parties.

Are you suggesting that all democratic Arab nations are our enemies?

MWB - NO - But the Islam-O-Fascist are are ENEMIES and the "Wahabi Sect"
of Islam that is 'promoted' by Saudi Arabia is an Enemy of World Peace.
..
..
Do you have any clue what you're advocating?

MWB - YES - I Think Most of Us Know Our Own Minds and 'express'
our Opinions reasonably well. {Be they Right -or- Wrong}

You just had to go and pick on the Lao PDR, didn't you?

I liked my stay in Laos. Good food and good beer (700 ml bottles for 70 cents) and
some intersting sites in the northern part of the country. It was one of the most
relaxed countries that I have ever visited. Cambodia was a very different story.
Every time I exited a temple site in and around Angkor Wat I was instantly
besieged by people trying to sell me all sorts of trinkets and drinks and food. 3
days of that began to wear a little thin.

And going to Laos was my one chance to hear Lao Radio ;-).
