Default On Topic - Dayton Radio Convention

Just got back from Dayton hamfest. The usual dealers were there, but
no red-hot deals to speak of. Universal discounted $10-15 off the
portables.

No mfrs. announced any new sw receivers. :-(

Yep, Yaesu announced a new transceiver. FT-dx-9000 ? Was that the
model? Estimated to hit the shelves at $13k for the fully equipped
model.

PalStar appears to have cut the price on the MW preselector.

Flex Radio has announced some serious upgrades for the SDR.
http://www.flex-radio.com ; Word is this radio will smoke any other
computerized radio going - as long as you don't need to go higher than
65mHz.

Didn't see a C. Crane on display there. (Was there one there to
miss?)

Spun the dials on a Grundig S-350. Not impressed by the feel.

Attended the Drake forum and enjoyed presentations by Sindre Torp and
Bill Frost. And watched the raffle drawing for the really nice R7A
receiver.

The flea market was thin this year. Didn't see as many nice oldies
for sale as I have seen in past years. There as a REAL clean Drake 1a
but it was NOT for sale.

That's my take - others?

LW,

Did Grundig-North-America (ETON Corp.)
have the new Eton E1 XM Radio there
for public viewing ?
[Formerly Grundig Satellit 900 Radio.]
