Default tour de france

Hello all
I am looking for live Tour de France coverage in English. I have
emailed the BBC world service. No luck there. Might you guys have
anything for me?

Tia,
Chris

Your best bet is the internet. OLN TV has live audio coverage 2 to 4 hours
per day with Phil Ligget and Paul Sherwin. Eurosport also has live audio
coverage. And cyclingnews.com has live text coverage. See:

It should be an interesting Tour this year!

Thanks for all the internet links. But there is no access, hence I
would like to use my radio. Again thanks.

Since you don't have Web access, I guess you couldn't find this out,
but the OLN TV links that people were giving you were not only to
OLN's webcast, but also to information about their live broadcasts.
So if you get OLN, you can watch the race, not just listen to it.
(I think they carry it on both their U.S. and Canadian stations, but
I'm not positive.)

OLN Canada has been carrying live TdF coverage for that past couple of
years. It's great, as for decades, all you could get, if that, was an hour
or so highlights package on Saturday afternoons, on ABC.

There was a period of a 2-3 years from about 1998 when you could get a live
radio feed with continuously refreshed still pictures on a European sports
website (I forget which now), but they didn't have it the past couple of
years, as I recall. It was pretty unreliable anyway, as it suffered from too
much traffic (now there's a real problem for those who think the internet is
a replacement for any kind of radio!).

Other than that, as a decades long TdF fan, and a decades-long shortwave
radio user as well, I have never been able to pick up live coverage of the
TdF on shortwave. Maybe it was there, but I never did find any in North
America.

I doubt you'll get any live coverage on shortwave.

The best bets for hearing anything about the Tour might be Radio France
Intl, Belgium, and BBC. And maybe VOA because of Armstrong.

You might get some live reports from South American regional stations in the
late morning ... but in English? I doubt it. Been there, gave up on that.

OLN TV ... worth every cent.
