R8s do not work on batteries, or use a wall wart. They have a standard AC power cord. They can indeed operate on a battery (a deep cycle for example), or a wall wart (provided the wall wart can put out at least 12 volts DC at 2 amps). Dan The R8 does not have an internal battery compartment but it can be powered by an external 12-V battery. -----= Posted via Newsfeeds.Com, Uncensored Usenet News =----- http://www.newsfeeds.com - The #1 Newsgroup Service in the World! -----== Over 100,000 Newsgroups - 19 Different Servers! =----- |

Yes it has spring release terminals for that on the back panel. -- Telamon Ventura, California |

It has a built-in power supply. Don't know, just saying that it is indeed possible. Whatever it is he has for sale, it does not sound like an R8. It sounds like an SW8. Well of *course* it's possible. But if you were selling an R8, would you mention that it runs on batteries and has a wall wart? I have no idea what another seller may or may not do. Though I might indeed mention that it is capable of being powered by 12 volt DC. But hey, continue to run the subject into the ground as long as you desire! IAC, it's not an R8, it's an SW8. Which is what I figured, which is why I made my original post. Bottom line, the statements I made about the R8 series remain true. Ball is in your court! Let's play!
