Default Afternoon Logs

5920 @ 16:10 UTC: WBOH broadcasting Grace Missionary Baptist Church out of
Newport, NC: S-6 with little fade but there is noise here to be expected
given the time of day in relation to place on the band.

6070 @ 16:19 UTC: CFRB's 1010 AM shortwave relay: S-7 with little fade but
there is noise here to be expected given the time of day in relation to the
place on the band.

7415 @ 16:25 UTC: WBCQ Clear with slight noise due to time in relation to
place on the band. S-9 and easily listenable but has had a few fade outs
down to S-5; Stairs Program

9330 @ 16:33 UTC: WBCQ Clear with slight noise due to time in relation to
place on the band. Peaks at S-8. LSB zero beat at 9329.82; Stairs Program

9370 @ 16:44: WBOH broadcasting Grace Missionary Baptist Church out of
Newport, NC: Clear with slight noise due to time in relation to place on the
band. Peaks at S-8 with a few fade outs down to S-5

9475 @ 16:53: WWCR broadcasting WMQN our of Nashville. Major fade out
with noise due to time in relation to place on the band. Peaks at S-7 at
times but for the most part it goes into the noise floor; Stairs Program

9625 @ 16:57: RCI out of Sackville. Noise due to time in relation to
place on the band. Steady at s-4 to s-5. Currently news in French

9690 @ 17:02: I'm listening for DW out of Rwanda. This is BARELY
audible, but it is there. Cant even make out the language, so I cant call
this a qualified log... It is just guess that DW is what I'm barely hearing.

11530 @ 17:16: EWTN out of Vandir, AL. Strong and clear. Steady at S-9
but did have a fade down to S-7. Catholic programming in Spanish.

11665 @ 17:20: BBC out of Biblis. Peaks at S-5 with heavy fade down to the
floor and plenty of noise. Azeri Service.

11675 @ 17:30: VOR out of Armavir. Strong and clear. Peaks at S-8 with
occasinal fade out down to S-5. In English. Currently music
education/appreciation program.

11725 @ 17:33: RTI out of Rome. Noisy and weak. Peaks at S-4 with fade
down to the floor at times. Talk in Italian.

11765 @ 17:36: Radio Romania. Noisy and weak. Up tp S-5 but unmistakable
practically speaking. Currently playing classical music. At times, I'm
getting intermod. I can hear Gene Scott's voice come over from up on 11765.

11775 @ 17:42: Caribbean Beacon out of Anguilla. Strong and clear.
Peaks at S-9 but has occasional fade out down to S-5. Gene Scott's program.

11795 @ 17:50: Radio Exterior out of Cariari. Weak and barely audible.
It bubbles up out of the noise floor at times. I need to listen in USB in
order to make out that it is in Spanish. It is so weak, I thought it might
have been Dubai I was hearing. Then at 18:00, I began to hear DW radio out
of Wertachtal cut in and drown it out. DW is weak and messy, but it is
audible and making over the noise floor. Currently news in German

11805 @ 18:10: VOA Lampertheim is my best guess. S-2 to S-3. Weak and
messy. News/Talk in a Slavic language.

11815 @ 18:18: Radio Exterior out of Cariari. Weak and audible in ssb
only. Sounds line news in Spanish. I have to listen in LSB due to intermod
from above on......

11820 @ 18:19: Saudi Arabia out of Riyadh. Strong and clear with some
noise and a heterodyne that needs the notch filter. Peaks at S-9 but has
major fade out at times down to S-5. Currently news in Arabic.

11845 @ 18:27: BBC out of Limassol. Very weak and messy. I need to listen
in ssb. Dosent even register on the meter. Currently playing music.

11855: @ 18:35: VOA out of Sri Lanca ??? Noisy and Weak. S-3 to S-5. I
cant make out the language.

11860 @ 19:02: Iran barely audible along with intermod from 11865. I
need to listen in lsb to hear it without the intermod. Not even reading on
the meter. Currently talk in Arabic.

11865 @ 19:11: Not sure what this is. May be VOA ??? A bit messy. S-3
to S-6. Constant fade up and down. Best in ssb. Sounds like a cultural
program in Russian. (see 11910 below)

11875 @ 19:17: VOA out of Sri Lanca. S-4 to S-6. Reasonably clear.
Talk in Spanish. Sounds like political commentary of some kind.

11885 @ 19:21: Something there but I don't know what it is. Very weak
and only audible in lsb. Currently playing music between periods of talk.
It might even be GRI, Greece. Not sure.

11890 @ 19:25: RTI, Italy, probably. Listenable only in ssb due to
intermod. It also has a reverb. Probably getting this from two different
directions simultaneously. No reading on meter in ssb. Very weak. Currently
playing Italian music.

11895: @19:27: CRI. S-1 up to S-5. Noisy and fade but I can listen in
AM. Currently playing Chinese music with talk over it. Probably a cultural
program.

11910 @ 19:33: Sounds like the same thing as up on 11875. Strong, but way
better in ssb due to intermod from up on 11915. Ahhh... I just heard an
English newscast before the Slavic translation broke in. Probably VOA, not
VOR. If it is VOA, probably out of Morocco.

11915 @ 19:29: Saudi Arabia. Weak but clear but I need to listen in ssb
due to intermod problems from VOA??? below on 11910. Currently talk in
Arabic.

11930 @ 19:41: VOA "Radio Marti" out of NC. VERY strong and clear. The
jammer can also be heard. Currently geopolitical news programming in
Spanish.

11940 @ 19:44: Romania. Again, I need ssb due to all the intermod in this
area of the band. Very weak. Currently talk in German.

11945 @ 19:48: Portugal. Not practicaly audible due to heavy intermod from
11950. Even in ssb, it is being hit hard from above. As a matter of fact,
all I may be hearing here is just an intermod stew and not really Portugal.

11950 @ 19:54 United Arab Emirtes, Dubai. This is clear, but again, I need
ssb due to intermod from above. It is getting creamed from a strong signal
from RFI on 11955. Currently Arabic music.

11955 @ 19:57 RFI, Moyabi. Wicked strong and clear. S-9 to S-15+. It has
a heterodyne that needs the notch filter. Currently self advertising of RFI
and station ID.

11965 @ 19:59. RCI out of Germany. Listenable in AM but better in ssb
again due to intermod. S-5 in AM, Peaks at S-1 with the modulation in ssb.
Currently talk in French.

11975 @ 20:02: VOA. S-3 to S-6 in AM. Listenable in AM but better in ssb
due to the crowding. Currently news in English. I have no idea what site
this is from. Sao Tome ???

11995 @ 20:05: RFI out of Issoudun. S-3 to S-5. Listenable but has noise
and fade. Currently news in French.

12005 @ 20:10: Tunisia out of Sfax. Fade between S-5 and S-9, but very
strong and clear. Great signal, great audio. Currrently talk in Arabic.
