Shortwave radio isn't a big player. That doesn't mean it's not a player at all, but, if there is much hot news on shortwave from the Middle East, it's probably encrypted or in Arabic. The quick breaking news is on TV. There's some news analysis on the old line international broadcasters, but there's more on the major media, especially if you include the internet. If you've got the SW radio on, you can always count on the likes of Brother Stair and Alex Jones for a unique perspective. Frank Dresser |

Hmmmph .. whaddaya mean SW isn't a big player. A false prediction upon your and your house. Bro. LW, nothing would make me happier than to say you're 100% right again, but Bro. Stair has been talking about other things beside the Middle East every hour. In fact, he's still talking about Mr. Ronald Reagan. Why, just today the Prophet was reading a letter from somebody who claimed to have worked on Mr. Ronald Reagan's Star Wars program in Huntsville, Alabama. The letter writer told Brother Stair the Star Wars system was not intended to shoot down Soviet missles, but was to be aimed the other way and shoot down Jesus as He returned to Earth from Heaven. Alex Jones wasn't any more informative about the Middle East situation on today's SW program either. His show was a repeat about George Bush's secret plan to poison America with manditory psychoactive drugs. But I do stand corrected about SW being a major player in Middle East news. If the news isn't coming from Brother Stair or Alex Jones, it will heard from The Power Hour, or James Lloyd or Texe Marrs or John Stadtmiller or any of the other people who are just overfilled with Special Knowledge. Yes, short wave radio is still the best place to get the news you can't get anywhere else. Frank Dresser |

I often wonder what Middle Easterners make of Bro Stair. He claims a
station in Istanbul and Israel, and I would expect his broadcasts out of Juelich would make it to the Middle East as well. (They definitely don't make it to China. We fans of the bizarre must make do with WHRI or Radio Pyongyang.)
