CFCX @ 6005 khz -- 6005 is the BBCWS in house frequency for South / Central
America... So I don't expect them to return to 6005. Why they don't use an existing (but spare) MW antenna and a 5 kw transmitter is a mystry to me. "Emile" wrote in message .. . Isn't the frequency for cfcx 6005? thanks. Emile. |

Why they don't use an existing (but spare) MW antenna and a 5 kw transmitter is a mystry to me. Because they were not a shortwave broadcaster, merely echoing a local broadcast station to shortwave. Because the main station is now owned by a different company, who likely have evenles interest in shortave than the past owners of the station. Because the main station has changed, callsign, frequency and format, leaving little to connect it to the station that also happened to rebroadcast its material on shortwave. The real question is why they even bothered with a shortwave station in the first place. Or at least kept it up as they years went by. The issue of expending money on the shortwave station only becomes pertinent if they have some reason for doing so. Michael "Emile" wrote in message .. . Isn't the frequency for cfcx 6005? thanks. No, it's a West Africa frequency from Ascension Island. But it's often the only thing we can get in North America after they quit the Caribbean schedule for the day.
