This is very interesting as Ben Barnes, former Lt. Governor of Texas is set to
air an interview with Dan Rather on CBS.

It would appear that Barnes is going to say that he used his influence as Lt.
Governor to get the young George W. Bush into the Texas Air National Guard.

Strange thing is.... GWB was in the TANG in 1968, and Barnes did not become Lt.
Gov. until 1969...

Guess this needs a bit more clarification.

Apparently he was Speaker of the Texas House at the time. Strange though that he
claims he was not contacted by a member of the Bush family, but rather a NOW
DECEASED Sidney Adger, a Houston oilman.

It is unfortunate that Mr. Adger is no longer here to shed some light on this
matter.
