Default RRI Fak Fak

Hearing RRI Fak Fak for the past several days on 4789.95, but at a reduced level
compared to the way it was in the last few weeks.

Heard this morning with SCI at 1200, then into news.

At 1255, I had RRI Fak Fak with a good signal this morning during dawn
enhancement of signals. The level seemed about the same as I've heard since
the end of August.

I also noticed that ZLXA Levin (NZ) on 3935 continues stronger than in the
past. For years they've had weak, watery audio or were only heard with a
het, but lately their signal has been at the level it was in the early 1990s
(ie., fair during decent DU openings).

Actually, your getting a QSL from the Indo's is quite something - a lot of
trouble , effort and expense.
You are certainly a very dedicated QSL'er.

Life for us in the Third World is much less easy.
I have to get a new tuning encoder from Drake (whose service dept. are
always brilliant BTW)
It only costs about $12
but then the costs start climbing
$5 handling/packing
$31 postage
$10 bank charges for processing foreign currency Rand to $
$10 local customs and clearing charge
So its a nightmare, but thankfully, there are other benefits living in
Africa.

So the possibility of getting a prepared QSL card in Indonesian with a local
Indonesian stamp are out of the question here, as is getting a $ bill.

$31 for postage? It's just a tiny little part. Even Air-Mail I'm sure I could
send it to you for far far less.

Would you like me to check?

Steve - tks 4 the offer.
when I squealed, Drake came back:-
We can ship Air Parcel Post at a cost of $18.00. However, we can not

trace
this shipment, if the package does not arrive we are not responsible.

Also they do not take credit cards, hence the $10 bank charges to pay them
