Hi!
On http://www.eupolitix.com/EN/Legislat...c2cbba7667.htm you`ll find the information that COM/2002/759 "electromagnetic compatibility" is currently discussed by the european parliament - without beeing noticed by the public. As the introduction is a very serious danger for our hobbies ham radio and shortwave listening there's an urgent need to do something... The german ham radio society DARC just called all radio amateurs to write a letter to their state's representative(s) at the european parliament (german sample text at: www.darc.de/aktuell/plc ) I think that this action would be more impressive if all european shortwave users would do the same - write to your local representatives explaining to them the importance of undisturbed shortwave reception and the appling international laws (ITU regulations, etc.). You should distribute and share this idea with other interested groups - tell it local cb clubs or your countries amateur radio society. And finally: write to your representative who's adress could be found at http://www.europarl.eu.int/whoswho/default.htm |
