![]() My R-5000 runs hot as well, the first few years I had it I used small a cooling fan on it. Then I added a 12VDC power jack on it and problem was solved. The Kenwood kit was no longer available so I made my own. Just a bit of soldering and adding a power jack and a mirror image power plug. I run it off a 3 Amp regulated power supply from Radio Shack.
