I tried practically every station listed in Passport under 0200 UTC for
North America, and the only thing I can pick up is a real faint signal from South Korea on 31m. I can't even receive CUBA, for dogsakes! It's 0240 as I post this message, and still nothing. Even the US time signals are faint, and I'm only 1000 miles away from them! Oh, and the racket on 49m is incredible. What's going on here? I haven't heard anything about a solar flare or storm. ----== Posted via Newsfeeds.Com - Unlimited-Uncensored-Secure Usenet News==---- http://www.newsfeeds.com The #1 Newsgroup Service in the World! 100,000 Newsgroups ---= East/West-Coast Server Farms - Total Privacy via Encryption =--- |

We are going through a stream of solar wind from from a coronal hole today and tonight. It is mild, though. ----== Posted via Newsfeeds.Com - Unlimited-Uncensored-Secure Usenet News==---- http://www.newsfeeds.com The #1 Newsgroup Service in the World! 100,000 Newsgroups ---= East/West-Coast Server Farms - Total Privacy via Encryption =--- |

I only tried 5, 10, and 15 Mhz. 10 and 15 are real faint, although I can make out both Colorado and Hawaii. 5 is hidden behind that racket. Somebody mentioned low auroras, which we don't get here in CA under most circumstances, but that could be causing it. dxAce Michigan USA ----== Posted via Newsfeeds.Com - Unlimited-Uncensored-Secure Usenet News==---- http://www.newsfeeds.com The #1 Newsgroup Service in the World! 100,000 Newsgroups ---= East/West-Coast Server Farms - Total Privacy via Encryption =--- |

Tommyknocker, I usually fire up the shack around 0530GMT, as I work second
shift. Although conditions are far from Utopia, I have noticed the 41 meter band settling down a bit. Radio France Intl., Deutsche Welle, Vatican Radio, Radio Nederland in Flevoland, and of course the 1/2 mega-watters Tunisia, and Turkey are all rolling in well here in the Midwest. After Radio Nederland signs off at 0700 on 7125khz, I usually get a fairly good copy of Guinea, Conakry. Last week at this time, the band was dead as a doornail. Good DXing to you, Gary |

Hi - Here in SF Bay Area, although reception is not splendid, there is plenty to hear - all the big guns are powering in, and there are plenty of non-NA broadcasts to hear as well (the southern Africa services in particular were great last night about 0400 onward, like BBC Meyerton SA and VOA Botswana, and DW Rwanda if Deutsche is your thing). Europe was a little weaker than a few nights ago, but they were there. Cuba was strong on 49 meters. Hope your reception improves! Bruce Jensen |

I was hearing Australia faintly on 21740 at sign on 2200 UTC, and WWV 15 Mhz is coming in loud and clear. I live in Sacramento, about 90 miles inland. ----== Posted via Newsfeeds.Com - Unlimited-Uncensored-Secure Usenet News==---- http://www.newsfeeds.com The #1 Newsgroup Service in the World! 100,000 Newsgroups ---= East/West-Coast Server Farms - Total Privacy via Encryption =--- |

Actually, for me the odd thing was that the BBC on 5975
wasn't on, but I could hear Morocco booming in on 5980. --Mike L.
