Gregg Papa just announced during the Raiders-Chiefs game that the B.C.S., in its' infinite wisdom, will award Texas a trip to the Rose Bowl versus Michigan, rather than 10-1 Cal. Berkeley's Bears will, rather anti-climaticly, be installed in San Diego's Holiday Bowl. Thus once again there won't be a historic Big Ten-Pac Ten pairing in the grand-daddy of all bowl games. What an insult to Bear backers everywhere! Here's hoping A.F.R.T.S.' Rose Bowl coverage gets abismal ratings worldwide. Is it possible that politics had something to do with this decision? mike |

Sorry
My first reply didn't take. What a mess (political) the BCS has turned out to be. #1 Big 10 (rewarded?) with #2 Pac 10, or even better, somehow Texas! Better to give the people in the midwest a 'real' interesting game.... UM vs Wisconsin. It wouldn't interest anyone outside of the midwest, but what the heck, midwesterners aren't all that interested in the yearly Florida, Florida State, Miami matchups either. Bring on a 'real' playoff system. Sorry for the O.T. Go Navy....Go Army....Go AFRTS |
