Would anyone like to suggest good stations to listen to (shortwave or
on the web) when the year changes in their time zone? For example, at 1100 GMT there's New Zealand (Summer Time = GMT+13) and at 1500 GMT Japan. |

You might try Papua New Guinea on 4890... I called in one year during the festivities. Most times I make a point to listen to the BBC prior to 0000 and hear the full strike of Big Ben, one of the rare times they have the full strike broadcast, and that of course signals the start of the new GMT (UTC) day. The only other time I can recall the full strike of Big Ben being broadcast in recent memory is on Remembrance Day when 11 strikes are broadcast. dxAce Michigan USA |

I generally listen on 5975 most years, but you might want to check the skeds at: http://www.susi-und-strolch.de/eibi/bc-b04.txt Hopefully they'll continue the tradition. Tune in earlier than 0000 of course. "dxAce" wrote in message ...
