Where is the "EU" {EuroLand} ? and their Money ?

Daily Telegraph 1 JAN 05

Japan has pledged to give up to $500 million (=A3260 million) to the
tsunami disaster relief fund, making it the biggest donor to the global
aid effort.

The cash massively increases Japan's initial pledge of $30 million
(=A315 million) and comes a day after the United States increased its
aid by tenfold to $350 million (=A3182 million).

Junichiro Koizumi, the Japanese prime minister, also announced that he
would attend a summit in Jakarta next week which the Indonesian
government will host to co-ordinate the aid effort.

Japan has already sent two destroyers and a supply ship to Thailand, as
well as dozens of firefighters, doctors and relief workers to the
disasters zones.

Its latest move means that the global fund has now reached $1.86
billion (=A3964 billion), which comes close to the amount of aid the
United Nations estimated was needed earlier this week.

Among the donations are aid packages of =A3130 million from the World
Bank, =A350 million from Britain and =A321 million from the European
Union.

The appeal to the British public by the Disasters Emergency Committee,
an umbrella group of 12 charities, has now raised more than =A350
million, including =A313 million yesterday.

Your logic escapes me.

Well, Mr. Simon "M", can we then at least see your show of gratitude for me
and my ancestors whose very hard work at building a great country so that
you and your relatives can benefit from our kindness?????

Well Sir, yours and my countries are among the richest countries in the
world and sometimes rich people give money to poor people in times of
crisis. It's called charity. Especially as we've got money to waste on
wars and arms.

We don't need any poor people to give us their money when you have your
hurricanes and we have our droughts or whatever, as we are lucky enough
to be able to look after ourselves.

Can you please explain to me where in my above statement I had "knocked" Mr.
Simon?
If Mr. Simon can dish it out than he most certainly must be prepared to
receive the same.

I don't give a damn if he's kewl or not.

Since I am British we colonised your country in the first place! Can we have
some gratitude that our language and culture has helped make you what your
are. It's no accident that the language you are speaking is called "English"
;-)

Nearby from here is the home of William Brewster who sailed in the Mayflower
of 1620 to found the state of Virginia, named after our Queen.

Oh and thanks for the WW II help.
