I recently purchased a demo model of the now discontinued Sony SW
ICF77. The serial number is 72149. I would like to know the
approximate date of manufacture. Does anyone know how to determine this
either from the serial number or by contacting Sony? Thanks.

IIRC this should be one of the last series, the highest S/N I've seen
was in the 73000s. So it certainly is not very old.
