The best way to cut your losses is to sell the radio as is to someone
that wants it for spare parts or can fix it. Then use the sales money to

I took your advice because I'm tired of not having a decent radio. I have
been using a yahct boy 206 and it is a decent little radio. It just doesn't
cut it.
I just grabbed a 7600gr through amazon.

Good choice on the new radio. You should be able to get at least $100
for the broken SW-77 which will almost cover the cost of the new 7600GR.
If I had a '77', I'd buy yours for parts.
