I always thought that AFN had only one programming stream.
But listening to the following I found two different streams on AFN on March 27th 5765 AFN Guam (8,700 miles from this QTH) @ 1630 zulu was programming country & western music 10320 AFN Pearl Harbour (11,500 miles from this QTH) @ 1630 zulu was programming some sort of political talk At 1700 zulu they both ran the same NX Any comment? -- John Plimmer, Montagu, Western Cape Province, South Africa South 33 d 47 m 32 s, East 20 d 07 m 32 s Icom IC-756 PRO III with MW mods RX Drake R8B, SW8 & ERGO software Sony 7600D GE SRIII BW XCR 30, Braun T1000, Sangean 818 & 803A. Humph! that's news? I have always known AFN has multiple streams.I used
to listen to it in Vietnam in 1964.They had a broadcasting station in one of the hotels in Saigon and their broadcasting tower was on the roof of that hotel too.I have seen it many,many times when I was in Saigon.I used to have a shirtpocket transistor with me most of the time over there and I would listen to them and sometimes I would listen to some Vietnamese radio stations on my transistor too.Well,let me cut the light now,past time I get my beauty sleep. cuhulin |
