Again, what is the content?

I can state without reservation that you can get content from XM you
can't get any other place. 65 or so channels of commercial free music
that simply are not available anywhere else. A lot of which you
couldn't walk into your local music store and buy if you wanted to.

In addition, you can't get the talk or sports or news content from any
other source while you're driving down the highway.

This is just closed-mindedness. It'll cost you $100 to try it for 3
months. If you don't like it sell the receiver and dockers on ebay and
get your money back. Geez. Don't be a tightwad.

I can guarantee you that it will be a better value than satellite
radio. I mean, how many other newsletters out there offer to tailor
themselves to your interests?

An even larger amount of music is also available via the internet.

Really? How's the service in your car? Do you have broadband?

Somebody has their security set REALLY high. (It wasn't me who put the tinyurl
in, by the way.) But it's still not a bad idea....the tinyurl is a great thing,
but it can obscure soime very nasties. For those not up to the risk, why risk
it?

In some cities, already, that answer is YES! So keep this in mind....whether a
wireless internet infrastucture with the same service area as a satellite-based
network can be built as cost-effectively(?) as satellite distribution remains to
be seen, though.

It has actually been going on for a long time.'

This is different. XM's Roady2 is now available at Amazon for $49.

What's different? XM's subscriber numbers have reached a point where
they can build the radios cheaply enough that they can give them away
(or nearly so) without it costing an arm and a leg. In the past, when
either company (mostly Sirius, but occasionally XM) offered any kind of
promotion, they were taking substantial losses on them.

Today, XM can do this and come out on if the average subscriber sticks
with them for only a few months. Sirius is in a tougher spot, because
to get their hardware priced competitively with XM's, they have to take
a loss of about $60-80/unit beyond XM's loss.

It's absolutely fantastic. I just connect my Palm to some amplified
speakers and man it is awesome!

Cuhulin, you're cramping my style. Jim obviously likes to subscribe to
