Perhaps he's afraid that the Evil Liberal Doctors will sneak in to his
compound when he's asleep, stick a needle in his arm without him knowing
it, and inject him with sodium pentothal without his consent. Or that
they'll confiscate his food supply and force him to starve. He can
always eat his bullets, he probably has more bullets than food.
