What does this have to do with shortwave? 1) The USS Liberty was the
most sophisticated surveillance ship of its day and it probably
monitored shortwave signals as well as many others -- including the
communications of the Israeli surveillance planes which over flew the
ship numerous times before the dastardly attack on their "friend" -
probably to blame it on the Arabs and force us into the war, on their
side, of course. 2) I heard it on shortwave radio as Pastor Peter John
Peters, http://scripturesforamerica.org/ , had a guest on who happened
to be on that ship which was under attack from gunboats, jets and
helicopters, even shooting up the lifeboats and life rafts.

When they survived, against all odds, these guys were ORDERED, by their
own commanders, not to ever speak of what happened and some have met
with "arkancide" type "accidents" after telling of the crimes the
Israelis perpetrated upon that ship that day! The guest of Pastor
Peters regularly gets death threats but continues to proclaim the truth
- and to remind the president and the people of that infamous day, June
8, 1967.

example, the Liberty was first reported - incorrectly, as it turned
out - to be cruising at 30 knots (it was later recalculated to be 28

and the U.S. Navy Court of Inquiry found that the Liberty's flag was
very likely drooped and not discernible; moreover, members of the crew,
including the Captain, Commander William McGonagle, testified that the
flag was knocked down after the first or second assault."

will come shining through. The reason for the attacks on Liberty was to
prevent the US from knowing about the atrocities and war crimes that were
committed by the Israelis against the retreating Egyptians in the Sinai.

That's what the guest said they CLAIMED. However, he said slower moving
planes flying the star of David studied the ship THIRTEEN times (?) from
06:00 to 12:00, then at 14:00 the ship was attacked by gun boats,
helicopters and jets. They INTENDED to leave NO SURVIVORS but somehow
the ship would not go down even though it was "thrown together" in about
45 days. Someone radioed, "Help is on the way" and the cowards fled.
This ship was protected only by two 50-cal's on the fore and aft of the
ship. The USS Saratoga was supposed to protect it but it's jets were 15
minutes away - and were ORDERED to STAND DOWN!

If the ship was 14 miles off the coast of Sinai it wasn't monitoring
shortwave -- morst likely VHF-UHF .
If not mistaking, the people in charge of giving orders to sink USS
Liberty were facing an investigation comission after the 1973 war and
got fired in 1974.(Not related to 1967 incident). Too late...
