Hi,
I was wondering if anyone has managed to use a PC, and one of the receivers in the subject title, to sucessfully decode DRM transmissions on Shortwave? If it has been done, I'd be grateful if you could give me advice on how to achieve this. TIA. |

... I think it makes sense to buy a cheap ATS909 from ebay rather than a brand new one at twice the cost. The modifications will invalidate the warranty anyway on a brand new unit anyway. If you are not fussy about portable vs tabletop, have a look for a RS DX-394. They are easily modified with lots of space to mount the converter inside. The B model will give the best results on DRM but the A and original models can be modified to match the B's superior stability. And if you are into 'hacking' radios, the DX-394 has more potential and more published mods than any other radio with a big user group. Always one for auction on ebay, frequently in UK. Check these sites for DX-394 mods: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/RADIOSHACKDX394/ http://www.monitor.co.uk/radio-mods/radio-mods.htm http://www.mods.dk/ Tom |
