Default Sticky meter on Sony ICF 6700 receiver

I own a Toshiba model number RP-F11 AM/FM/Shortwave Radio.I remember I
bought it for two dollars at the Goodwill thrift store that used to be
on Palmyra Street in "beautifull" down town (www.devilfinder.com Cool
Buildings of Jackson) Jackson. The radio works ok,but the signal strenght
meter needle thingy doesn't move at all,it wasen't moving when I bought
the radio.I also own a Magnaxox model D1875 11 Band World Receiver
AM/FM/Shortwave radio that I bought for two dollars at the same Goodwill
store and it doesn't have a signal strenght meter at all,but the radio
works ok.Way I see it,signal strenght meters or not,if the radio station
you want to listen to is coming in ok,signal strenght meters are only
iceing on the cake,or something like that.My ears are my signal strenght
meters.

All the kids around here call me Mr.Larry (because I am Larry) and them
kids next door spotted that little plastic kiddies toy car (the most
famous car in the World,y'all know which "cars" I mean, them red and
yellow plastic toy cars that outsell all other real cars in America,I
bought it at the Goodwill store for three dollars about two years ago)
sitting behind my 1948 Williys Jeep in my open carport.Mr.Larry,can we
have that play car?,they said.My doggy was hanging on the dog leash on
my right arm and I managed to fish that plastic car out of there with my
other arm.Yeahhh,y'all can have,I wasen't ever going to do anything with
it anyway.

For the most part I agree, although I do find it useful on the R-5000
when using the RF gain on a fading signal. If you ever wish to
ressurect the "S" meter on that Toshiba it should not be that
difficult. The Toshiba has me thinking. Didn't Kenwood issue a
re-badged RF-P11? That Toshiba got good ratings in MT when originally
released.

I've got one of thes D1875 receivers too, but mine came from a Best
Products store. Nice audio, much better than the Sony 7601 that came
out about the same time. Did you find the "hidden" band yet?

On the D1875 just slide the bandswitch one more position to the right
past the last band marked on the dial. The band spread display on the
back of the radio shows it. Daytime you might catch a station or two.

On my Magnavox D1875 11 Band World Receiver radio,,, all the way to the
right on the dial doesn't show anything on the dial except (starting
from the top down) 259
257
255
253
251 (the third digit numbers are smaller than the first two numbers) Let
me put some new batteries in the radio. What am I "suppose to find?"
