Default Robert Green leaving Radio Netherlands?

I caught the tail end of Robert Green's commentary today and he was
bidding farewell to his listening audience. After he was done, the
announcer came on and said that Robert Green would be missed.

Is this for real or is it some kind of weird joke? I wish I'd heard the
whole commentary because I didn't hear Green say why he was leaving R.
Netherlands. Or maybe he stepped over the line in one of his
commentaries and was asked to leave? Does anyone know?

He's hit 65 and they're retiring him. This has been an on and off
subject of his for the past 6 weeks or so.

The Dutch are pretty anal about this. One of the regulars in
sci.electronics.design got the same treatment. With their good
benefits system and high unemployment, you hit the age limit and
out you go.

Telemon, I was actually thinking about you when I posted my inquiry. If
you were in NYC tonight, I'd take you out for a few beers and we'd
celebrate.
