I am not a technician or engineer either,but in some cases if you are
soldering or desoldering,you might need to use a heat sink or two or three or else too much heat might ruin another part or parts.When in doubt,use some heat sinks. cuhulin |

Generally most people damage the PCB when soldering or desoldering.
