10/3 90.1FM 10AM-NOON EST Special GUEST - Steve Lieberman -"The Gangsta
Rabbi" on Jill Morrison Show Thurs. Nov.3 from 10AM-Noon EST on 90.1FM WUSB Stony Brook NY or LIVE INTERNET STREAM via www.wusb.fm, The Jill Morrison Show - Back by popular demand, will feature Steve Lieberman aka The Gangsta Rabbi and the first ever airplay of his 8th album "Punkifier" was recently released 10/25/05. www.gangstarabbi.com "MOONDOG MEETS JETHRO TULL MEETS RICHARD HELL AND THE VOIDOIDS" was how I tagged him on the first listen in 6/04 - Jill Morrison STEVE LIEBERMAN- One-man BASS Revolutionary, eccentric FLUTIST and exotic MULTI-INSTRUMENTALIST writes, performs and creates what has beencalled the most original brand of music on this side of the Diaspora, fusing punk, industrial, progressive rock,world/folk with Hebrew-American influence. To further add to the craziness, he does this all with no guitars or keyboards! All the chords and leads are performed on his now trademark 4-fold overdriven Bass supplemented by ahuge array of Transverse Flutes, Happy Flutes,Exotics as the Shahnai, Bombard, Dvoyanka, Chanter,Snake Charmer,Spike Fiddle, Clarinet, Trombone amongst others!! Famed Progressive Music Expert Rafeal Almeida Gonzcalvez did an in depth analysis of Steve Lieberman's music in 2002 to determine what genre it fit in the Progressive scene. Big Surprise! He had to create a seperate genre PROGRESSIVE PUNK, adding "generally a very difficult listen" - but he did, nevertheless! Richard L'Hommedieu will be on with the LI Music History segment and LI happenings and artists in addition to news about the LONG MUSIC HALL OF FAME (which he is Chairman of). Future shows include on Nov. 17 - Co-Founders Maura Wachsberger and Billy Gaines of "CREATION" from the ADT at United Cerebral Palsy Association of Nassau County who will be performing at 15th Annual LI Festival of Trees - Thanksgiving Weekend - held at the LI Marriot in Uniondale, NY. This unique group of singers and musicians recently performed in concert with the Nassau Pops at Tilles Center at C.W.Post College, Old Westbury, NY. They are living proof that despite their physical disabilities, have honed their musical talents and capabilities to the highest creative level and acheivement that are totally awesome! http://www.ucpn.org/adultservices/creation.htm http://www.ucpn.org/Old%20Pages/festiva1l.htm Other guestx, music and event TBA!
