Hello again all.
By now, you should be getting tired of my endless beginners questions. Well, here's another, so get over it! : ) If you recall, I have an Icom R-75 with all the Kiwa Mods, hooked up to an Antenna Supermarket Eavesdropper which runs into a Zap Trapper, then into the radio. Both the radio and antenna are grounded to a cold water pipe in my basement. I am generally pleased with SW reception, but, as this is my first SW radio, I'm sure it could be better. Does anybody have any simple improvements that I can try to improve reception? I'm kinda limited in my antenna placement as I only have one tree large enough in my yard to anchor an end of it to. The other end is anchored to my house. Both ends are anchored with rope, and then an insulator connected to the antenna. I'm sure I could pop for a expensive antenna like the Wellbrook, but I don't wanna spend that much $ now. Whatever suggestions you have, please keep them simple as I'm not an electrical engineer. My listening interests are mainly International broadcast and some utility monitoring. Thanks, Lenny |

The AM is OK for local stations in the daytime. S-AM mode doesn't really work (Kiwa has a mod program for this). I listen to AMDX on my R-75 all night long in the SSB mode and it works extremely well. Use the Dual PBT controls and the FIL button to get the most pleasant sound. |

RHF,
The Soviets in the 1980's named President Reagan a fascist. They called him a Hitler, a mad man. Now you know where the Left-wing Liberal-"Progressive"-Socialist-Kommunist ilk like "Dr." DaviD found the term while studying Kommunism in Beijing for his Ph.D.. You're in good company RHF. "RHF" wrote in message oups.com... DaviD - So the Subjest is : "RHF is an Islamo Fascist" First DaviD it is "Islam-O-Fascist" DaviD - There 'you' go preaching Hate Against People-of-Faith. DaviD - How very Enlightened of 'you' to show 'your' Liberal Bias and Left-Wing Bigotry against Persons-of-Faith. DaviD - Remember One of Our Great American Feedoms : "Freedom of Religion" DaviD - First 'you' Target Christians and now 'you' Target Islam. When I use the term Islam-O-Fascist it only applies to those who promote a radical form of Islam and are in-fact Terrorist. Islam-O-Fascist does not mean that everyone who practices the Faith of Islam is a Terrorist; and in-fact the vast majority of the Members of the Islamic Faith are peaceful good people. Islamic Academy of New England (IANE) http://www.iane.org/ Would appear to be just what it is a Religious School that offers a Quality Education in a Religious Content. Read = http://www.iane.org/mission.html When I sign-out 'iane' it simply means : "I Ain't No Elmer" Butt - DaviD - To 'your' twisted mind one 'iane' is equal to another 'iane'. Butt - DaviD - 'you' are NO "King David" http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/David And for that matter DaviD 'you' are NO : "David Rockefeller" http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/David_Rockefeller "David Bowie" http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/David_Bowie "David Brinkley" http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/David_Brinkley "David Sarnoff" http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/David_Sarnoff DaviD'- Alas David 'you' are simply 'david' being DaviD with Two Capital "D"s for Dumb and Dumber. DaviD - I Am Glad We Had This Conversation ![]() God {Allah} Bless America and All American Citizens amen, Amen. and AMEN ! ~ RHF . . . . . |

I own a Terk TV 50 antenna I bought for five dollars at a Goodwill store
about a year ago.It is about seven feet long and it has a lenght of coaxial cable fasten to the middle on one side of the antenna and there is a little slide switch for Off,On, to TV, to Antenna connected to the coaxial cable and there is also a 112volts dc Terk wall wart connected to the slide switch and another lenght of coaxial cable permantley coonected to the other end of the slide switch.(the other coaxial cable connections are ordinary screw on connections) Of course the antenna is intended for use with a tv set.I wonder how well the antenna would work as a shortwave radio antenna? www.devilfinder.com Terk TV 50 Antenna cuhulin |

I have a Four Star 12 transistor made in Japan AM/FM radio I want to try
out.The plastic battery holder holds four AA 1.5 volt batteries and the battery holder has a connector on one end that is similar to a nine volt battery. The wire springs battery contacts are completely corroded and one of the connectors on the battery holder has corroded completly away.I guess Radio Shack might sell plastic battery holders that might work ok. cuhulin |

Everything else is DX and subject to selective fading all evening long. |
