I dont know if it is or ws bpl that caused that. But,I done told y'all
several times before that U.S.fed govt does not like it that we get real
news via Shortwave Radio from around the World.Someday,we will see if I
am right about that.

BPL is a nightmare for me. When I first heard about it, I thought it was a great idea that would help my remote-location parents get high-speed Internet access. Then last year I became a shortwave listener and learned how BPL can interfere. I doubt there will be any legitimate support for notch-filtering BPL bandwidth just so I can use my sub-$100 radio for entertainment purposes. The powerful providers (sorry for the pun) will complain that they can't provide the best possible service to their customers.

If you are wayyyy out somewhere and it's hard to get broadband internet
access,I reccomend Starband.It isn't cheap,but I understand it works.

Actually,I have been thinking about getting on Starband for my computer
meself. There are one or two Starband installers/dealers here in the
Jackson,Mississippi area if you want to put my zip code (39209) in the
Starband search window thingy. However, yesterday,Bell South installed a
new cable (big brand new cable, about two or more inches diameter) on my
street.Last night,I stepped next door and I told the 37 year old blonde
Bell South woman (she is a technician and she works with Bell South
computers all day long, she is a pretty sharp cookie too) about it.She
said she thinks they are getting this neigborhood ready for Bell South
DSL.I asked her if that includes fiber optic. She said,Yeah,I think
so,but I will ask.
I do want fiber optic for my computer.

Thanks for the pointer. Over Christmas I talked about satellite internet service with my parents, but they are concerned about price. Right now they have dialup for cheap, and want to upgrade to better service. But I don't think they could justify the equipment cost based on how much they would use it.

Are you sure wireless broadband isn't available?
