Hi John,
I just bought one about three weeks ago for $225US. I like it, especially since I upgraded my antenna to a EWE (Google that for more info, if interested). Some people complain about it being kind of tricky to operate, but it's not hard to use at all. It's not a high-end receiver but it is a pleasure to play with. I don't know why that other respondent said anything about repairs, as it has got a good reputation for reliability, and I certainly have older radios that work great too, like my fifty-year-old Hammarlund. For the money, I think it's a good deal. You won't be disappointed, provided the radio you get is in decent shape. It is sensitive, has decent selectivity for AM broadcasts, and has very good sounding audio. And with a good antenna, the S/N ratio can be outstanding. Have a good day, Alan Domestos wrote: Hello all, am thinking of buying a FRG7 and would be interested in hearing others thoughts on this receiver. John |
