Don't believe it. They are 50 years old and need a lot of work to be
reliable. If they don't have all of the coupling capacitors replaced
you will be buying a lot of tubes.

AC and battery operation.

I can see an old radio could be a problem for the mentally and technically
challenged. Now go enjoy your Plastic radios and I'll enjoy the rich, full
sound from my five tube Transoceanic.
